The Nature of the Platform

Wattleriq is an information-organisation system. This means its primary activity is to receive content, apply a classification framework to it, and present the results in a structured environment that users can navigate. It is not a publishing platform, a data aggregator, or a communication service, though elements of each of these functions may be present in how users interact with classified content.

The platform is designed around the idea that information is more useful when it is arranged rather than simply accumulated. A user who encounters a large body of undifferentiated content faces the same challenge as a user who has no information at all: they cannot efficiently determine what is relevant to their purpose. Wattleriq addresses this by applying a consistent classification architecture before content is presented.

This approach is a design decision, not a technical innovation. The classification framework applied by Wattleriq reflects choices made by the people who designed the system, and those choices affect what users see and how they navigate the environment. Users who understand this will approach the system with appropriate expectations.

Scope of the Information Environment

The Wattleriq information environment covers the categories that have been established within the system's classification architecture. Not all possible categories of information are represented, and the depth of content within any given category depends on what has been made available to the system.

The scope of the environment is not fixed permanently. Categories may be added, restructured, or retired as the system evolves. Users who access the environment at different times may therefore encounter a different configuration of sections and panels. This is a consequence of the system's active development, not a defect.

Wattleriq does not represent that its information environment is exhaustive, current, or free from gaps. The environment presents what the system has classified, and the system classifies what is made available to it. Where gaps exist, they reflect limitations of the available source material, not a policy of deliberate omission.

How Classification Decisions Are Made

Classification within Wattleriq is governed by the rules embedded in the system's classification framework. These rules specify which category a piece of content should be assigned to, based on characteristics of the content itself. The framework is applied consistently — the same type of content will be assigned to the same category regardless of when it is processed or by whom.

The classification framework is not infallible. In some cases, content may share characteristics with more than one category, and the framework must make a determination. The result may not match the expectation of every user who encounters that content. Users who believe that a particular item has been placed in an inappropriate category can raise the matter through the enquiry channel, and the support team will consider the concern.

Classification decisions made by the system reflect the framework's current configuration. They do not represent editorial judgements about the value or importance of the content being classified.

Access to the System Environment

Some sections of the Wattleriq information environment may not be accessible to all visitors by default. Where restricted sections exist, access to them is arranged through the enquiry process described on the contact page. Users who wish to access a restricted section should indicate which section they are seeking to reach and provide any context that would help the support team understand their request.

Wattleriq does not guarantee that access requests will be approved. The decision to grant or decline access to a restricted section rests with the support team, which reviews each request on its own terms. There is no automatic right of access to any section of the environment, and Wattleriq does not provide reasons for access decisions in all cases.

Access, where granted, is subject to the Terms of Use applicable at the time. Users who are granted access to a restricted section are expected to use the information available within it in accordance with those terms.

Known Limitations of the System

The Wattleriq system has limitations that users should be aware of before forming reliance on the information it presents. These limitations are a consequence of how any information-organisation system operates and are not specific defects of the Wattleriq platform.

First, the system can only classify what it has received. If information has not been made available to the system, it will not appear in the environment, and the system will not indicate its absence. A user cannot infer from the absence of an item that the item does not exist.

Second, the accuracy of classified content depends on the accuracy of the source material. Wattleriq's classification process assigns content to categories but does not independently assess the factual accuracy of that content. Users should assess the accuracy of specific items themselves, using the source information provided where available.

Third, the classification framework may be updated over time. When the framework changes, previously classified content may be reclassified according to the new rules. Users who access the environment before and after a framework update may encounter different classification results for the same underlying content.

The Role of the Support Team

The Wattleriq support team handles enquiries submitted through the contact page and responds to messages sent directly to [email protected]. The team's role is to assist users in understanding the system, addressing concerns about classification, and handling access requests.

The support team does not have authority to modify the information environment on the basis of individual user preferences. It can escalate concerns about the classification framework to those responsible for the system's design, but it cannot guarantee that any changes will be made as a result of an individual enquiry.

The team may decline to respond to enquiries that are outside the scope of the system's purpose, that contain abusive content, or that appear to be submitted with a purpose inconsistent with the Terms of Use.
